Halloween Throwback: The Two Scariest Shows of Your Childhood

Halloween is upon us and it's time to look at the things that scared the hell out of us as kids. Besides having to take naps. Those just sucked

1. Are You Afraid of the Dark?

This Nickelodeon classic featured a group of kids known as "The Midnight Society" telling scary stories around a campfire. The scary stories would then unfold on screen, often being so terrifying that your Spongebob shaped macaroni and cheese dinner would remain untouched. Riveting stuff I know. That wasn't even the scary part...

The show was Canadian.

2. Goosebumps

The show based on R.L. Stein's hit children's book series struck fear into the heart's of Rugrats viewers everywhere. Goosebumps depicted such terrifying stories as The Werewolf of Fever Swamp and Welcome to Dead House. And like Are You Afraid of the Dark, it also had the terrifying element of being Canadian. Scarier even than that was the way that it derailed the Air Bud franchise in it's intro sequence by adding an incredibly detailed and realistic effect to a random pup

"Old Heller". See the play on words I did there? Damn I'm good

The three things to remember to have a safe Halloween: 1. Canadians are terrifying 2. Stay away from labradors with glowing yellow eyes 3. Don't eat candy corn. Honestly, it's just disgusting.
